What's New?

Jim Johnson of The American Association of Airport Executives (AAAE), recently gave us a call asking about the possibility of partnering with Sightline to deliver training to a AAAE client, The Port Authority of New York & New Jersey (PANYNJ). Specifically, PANYNJ wanted AAAE-quality on-site training similar to the Airfield Marking Symposium hosted by Newark International Airport in July of 2012.

AAAE came straight to the source.

This past week has been spent discussing pavement markings ad nauseum in New York; and we literally watched paint dry in one field demonstration! The PANYNJ personnel were very receptive to the science behind striping airfields, and the associated best practices for maintaining as needed. The training will empower them to evaluate markings critically for effectiveness and understand what type of maintenance to prescribe for remediation.

We can't thank the PANYNJ and AAAE enough for the opportunity to work side by side with them. A special thanks to Maria Bordas for her coordination, Bob Junge and JFK staff for their wonderful hospitality, and Mike Moroney and PANYNJ crew for providing equipment demonstrations in the field. It was an awesome collaborative effort! We look forward to returning for 'round two' in the summer.
