Ask Sightline

I have had a lot of ideas come from clients I'm close to in the industry. The latest concept to have materialized during our website redesign is called "Ask Sightline". Based largely on the now defunct Signs and Marking Supplement (SaMS) web page, once provided by the FAA, Ask Sightline is your new resource when you need answers to those incredibly specific, perplexing, gray-hair-causing airfield marking questions.

Guidance literature is somewhat general in nature because it has to be. The guidelines have to pertain to so many scenarios, they often contain more shades of gray than your local Sherwin Williams. That's why we developed Ask Sightline: so the answers for your specific project don't slip through the cracks.

However, we did not develop this tool to offer free advice for "non-industry specific" questions... for example:

"Who should I start in Week 1: Jordan Matthews or Devante Adams?"
- submitted by FFPlaya on September 6, 2015
Answer: We do not answer fantasy football start/sit questions, our expertise relates to airfield marking... Jordan Matthews is the obvious choice.

"Is it okay to be chewing when you're in a public restroom?"
- submitted by TaterFarmer34 on August 22, 2015
Answer: No. Never. There is no excuse for this, it is disgusting and inappropriate.

"What is the airspeed velocity of an unladen swallow?"
- submitted by MontgomeryPython1975 on August 26, 2015
Answer: What do you mean? African or European swallow?

I guess it's not that we won't answer these questions, but we would prefer it if the questions submitted through Ask Sightline are marking-specific. Thanks, and enjoy the new website!
